The dynamics of the modern workplace are changing

43% of new graduates say that if not given opportunities for growth, they’ll quit and look for another job

Gen Zers expectations are changing … how are you adapting? 🤔

They come into an organisation looking for:

✅ Rapid Career Progression and Continuous Learning: This can clash with many traditional workplace structures. They seek clear, transparent career paths and frequent, constructive feedback to foster their growth. Traditional slow and opaque progression models often fail to meet these expectations, leading to dissatisfaction and disengagement among Gen Zers.

✅ Soft Skill Development: Gen Z is often perceived to enter the workforce lacking essential soft skills, like effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and emotional intelligence. They recognise they might be missing the mark and are looking for support to develop these important skills.

✅ Hands-On Support: Despite their independence and being raised on tech, Gen Z values robust mentorship and direct, hands-on guidance from their leaders. They prefer supportive work environments where they feel the human connection and vulnerability from their leaders.

✅ Engaging training and development: The traditional, often passive learning methods do not align with Gen Z’s preferences for interactive, digital, and personalised learning experiences. They’re seeking learning opportunities that are tech integrated, flexible, and collaborative, allowing for immediate application of skills and regular feedback.
